I asked this question as part of my interview serries but wanted to get your reaction. What part of SEO is the most difficult or time consuming or tedious or *whatever* for you?

Ranking on Google and waiting for PageRank updates really gets my goat.

I guess I just need to learn to be patient.

    Cryo.

If I need to do link exchanges...it drives me nuts to write up a good proposal..I don't do automatic link exchanges so basically email them blah blah...my brain kinda freezes when it comes to that..

    Link building of course!

Well I actually outsource all that work now, but if I did it all myself I would go crazy.

Ill have to agree with that.

My problem is while I am waiting I make another site. Then while I am waiting for that one I make another site. This continues until I made too many sites and I forget to keep working on the older ones.

    Horrible cycle.

Without a doubt waitings a pain...also getting clients to make basic changes when they don't want to let me "just do it". The entire corporate environment thing is a pain...

Optimizing for the wrong keyword and only realizing months afterwards when STILL not getting any traffic when ranked #1 for said keyword.

    Google.
.. and spending hours trying to establish reciprocal links with places that deny me because they are competitors. I swear they own the entire internet.. it's frusterating.
