I've got a directory and wondered what pages I should be submitting when submitting! Should each of my category pages be submitted to their categories or just the top level? Thanks.

What directory will you submit? If paid, most owners would like you submit every category to their directory. If free, I don't think you should submit to the top category, few would be accepted.
Well. It's important to build backlinks for inner pages,but I think most free directories will reject your submissions.General speaking,they do accept top level submissions only.

Definately start off with your homepage. Research which pages are driving more traffic, and focus on the 'lesser' of them. Trying to get an even flow is the hard part.
