If you want direct users/buyers than you can earn via selling posts or links..
If you are looking for companies like adsense then there are adbrite, casale media, kontera etc etc etc but none can match adsense though how less they pay :(

What type your site is? Find advertisers out there. cj.com is one of them.

I think the best option otherthan adsense is Adbrite. It is also a good company and pay reasonably well.

I recommend adbrite. You can even use it along adsense.

Kontera ripped me off for more than $350.00. ;) I'm NOT joking! Don't remove your Kontera code! Check their TOS. They'll take your earnings, and they won't accept your requests to cancel your account!!

Then why don't you take the ads off of your site?

Gifstop, you can also check similair sites as your own, and contact their advertisers.

That's why they ripped me off, man. This is for real. I'm out to warn other webmasters of their shady practices.

No need to quote me, Webray. I'm just one post above you.

Well, if it is true that they did indeed rip you off, and you are not at fault at all, and you did read their rules to the letter, then look at it as a learning experience. That's something, anyway.

I have no experience in this field, so I am curious on how much has to be made before they or any advertising service like this cuts you a check. Or are checks cut every month?

I have a great deal of experience, and this outfit is not for you. I dropped their code after a 50% decrease in one month (traffic was increasing - go figure). Then I tried to cancel my account with them, and was ignored, but they used the fact that I removed the code as a reason to not pay me.

Wake up people. Kontera SUCKS, and will steal your earnings!

P.S. Payment happens every month, once you've broken their threshold (assuming you do so each month - I did!).

    *ugh, he quotes again.*

Somebody hand me a gun so I can shoot that ridiculous quote button.

Not for me? I don't do this anyway, so....

Well, chalk it up as a learning experience.

You can't get a hold of a top person over the phone? http://www.kontera.com/about-kontera/contact-us/

But perhaps you didn't read their rules, or you did, but you went with them anyway???

Anyway, I don't know either way, and we hyjacked his thread, so moving on....

    Remove quoted reference.

Copper12 has a sense of humor. :D I'll stop quoting you. I've contacted and tried reasoning with these fools. No go.

If its in their terms then they have done nothing wrong. The terms are the basis of the contract between you and Kontera and if you break the rules then they can do what they have to and which was agreed to by you when signing up with them.
