    Hello there,

An 32bit (x86) architecture can be used for up to 4gb of RAM, unless you use the PAE kernel patch. A 64bit architecture (x64) can be used for as much RAM as the motherboard can have. I your case, since you only have 1gb of RAM, you can use either architectures, unless you are planning at some point to upgrade to a VPS with more than 4gb of RAM, then I would suggest you use the 32bit OS.

Wordpress is a PHP and MySQL based blogging software. PHP and MySQL can easily be installed on any Linux OS but I would suggest you to install CentOS on the VPS. CentOS is the most widely used OS in the hosting industry and almost any issue can be fixed quickly.

    Hello there,

I would go with CentOS, as stated prior, it is used heavily within the industry and has very good support behind it.

I prefer to use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. As you might have know managing PHP, MySQL and other software will be OS dependable, so better to use an OS you are more comfortable with

I highly recommend CentOS. In my opinion, it's the easiest to user and user friendly. You can easily install the things required to run what you want.

    Kind Regards,

I would go with CentOS linux operating system. WordPress supports 64-bit. I would certainly choose 64-bit CentOS.

Yes, CentOS is best used for VPS. This does not mean you are good and others, but technical support is easier.
