Lets put aside those websites that were never set up with any kind of commercial intent for the purposes of this exercise. When I got into this game in 01 I took a general/realistic view that I would need around 10 websites to find one that would be decently successful. This being regardless of how confident I was with regards to each of the sites. Call it a self fullfilling prophesy but that is pretty much what I have found. Out of 10 I have one that has paid for all the others and provides a decent income, a couple that will eventually reply for themselves and a bunch that tanked! Whats your take on not only what your experience is but what you feel is a rule that should be applied to the net at large.
