<If this is the wrong forum for this, please move it> So I have been working with web development since December of 2008. The first site I created was a programming blog, mainly for me to post up the things I programmed and post tutorials. I average 40-80 uniques a day, where 55% of my traffic is from a youtube video I have about a cheat code in a game. The youtube video has 480,000 views, where 300,000 was cheated through a program I designed to auto refresh the page. After the initial 300,000 the rest was real traffic. The program dosnt work anymore as youtube fixed that problem. Before I go on, since december I have only made abput $240 USD from adsense. I have been using adbrite since February, and only made about $12. I found out from Digital point that proxies are the way to go. I started with one and then added about 4 more. I was making $6/day at one point where the traffic was high. I was getting about 3000 uniques daily. It has now dropepd to about 300/day on the site doing the best, and between 100 and 300 on the other sites not doing so well. My adsense earnings are between $0 and $2/day, where the majority is on the lower ends. I get random surges of traffic to the proxies, during exam week for highschools in Canada and the united states i was getting abou 1800 uniwues a day, after the week it dropepd back down to its normal amount. I am working on a new type of proxy site, soon to be released and I predict that it too wont do too well. I cloned the popular Twitter Train script as they seem to get insane amounts of traffic and earnings from selling "VIP" accounts, it has failed, maybe because I havent marketed it enough. (The script is for sale, and willing to sell the domain too. PM me if interested) I bought a pre made site on computer information services in the united states, i average 1 hit a week. I dont know what else to do, I am a very good programmer and can program PHP quite well...I made a script that works with Twitter to search for specific things, grab the URLS out of the tweets it finds, replaces it with a link of the new site im working on, that also still works to what the tweet is about and sends it as a reply to the person. It runs once a hour and each one it sends gets about 10 hits max, mainly riding on 0-2 hits. So programming isnt a problem, destining and creativity is, but theres always templates that can be used, or outsourcing. (PLEASE DONT SUGGEST FREELANCE PROGRAMMING) If I was to create a niche (Similar to what these people are doing: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1387254) what would a good one be? Does anybody have any suggestions on how I should go about doing this? Even if all my sites together (and there is about 10) make $10 total for the day that would be fine, as then that money can be put towards developing more things and advertising. Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated. I can post up links to the sites too if somebody requests it (if i just post them all It would kinda look like im just advertising them) Thanks in advanced.
Hi, I think that too many people put emphasis on Adsense. I was using adsense until I got smart priced and to be honest it was the best thing that happened to me. I moved away from Adsense to CPA and Affiliate Networks which pay alot better. Someone once commented to me "That I was standing over pounds to pick up pennies" when I told them I was using adsense, they were so correct. The other issue sounds like a lack of traffic; I would forget proxies (Everyone is doing them) likewise directories and arcade scripts. You can program so you will be able to create something unique with little or no competition. Have a look at Google trends and see what's hot and if you can make something unique which will help people. I would imagine that the first person that created a bulk PR checker had an influx of traffic. Likewise how about some software which people can enter in a bunch of IP addresses to see who was a legit Search Engine and who was spoofing the referer? Just an idea Hang in there, like Edison said when he created the lightbulb, "I did not fail 1000 times, it wad just a 1000 step process". All the best MDS
What CPA network are you using thats working best? Yeah, arcade sites...got one of those too lol. But it isnt done, getting a custom template made and stuff but maybe that should be abandoned. I was just looking up autoblogging and was considering that. But the only niche that always comes to mind for me is "programming" and such. An idea I thought of months ago and thought was stupid, recently opened up a month ago and im sure they are making thousands of dollars off it. Ideas I think about, then google to makesure I am the only one, I find the amazing domaisn for that topic registered just days beforehand. I am always a few steps behind. Thanks for the suggestion, but do you mean check the IP addresses against the search engines to see if it is an actual search engine? There is flaws i nthat idea and it wouldnt work, but thanks anyways. I have a HUGE project I will be working on with my Dad. The only thing is, the programming required in it is way to advanced for me. And we are looking for an investor. No more details will be given. I will see about submitting to more directories, and thinking about more ideas to try and go through with.
Hi, I use neverblueads for CPA, they are good and CJ / Shareasale for Affiliate Programs. RE "check the IP addresses against the search engines to see if it is an actual search engine"; yes, an I idea I pulled out off the top of my head which may have issues but you get the point; If you can provide a service with little competition then people will come back. Sorry, I cannot be more specific but people are always looking for ways to easily get backlinks, get content, get higher in search engine rankings which has created XRUMER, Keyword Research Tools, AutoBlogging software etc All the best MDS
I have tried CJ with my blog and I made a relevant post with the advertisemetns from CJ in it, no luck. I will take a look at neverblueads and XRUMER. Thanks for the help. Does anybody else have any tips to add?
