What next, not sure what to go for.

I need to do a lot of link building and I am not sure what to do next.

I have done the onpage optimisation.

I have done lots of article marketing, ezine articles and a lot of isnare, but they only let me submit 5 a day.

I have done some forum sigs in related forums, but this is not going to get me very far on the seprs as it has little value I am lead to believe.

I think blog commenting is not so good these days either, I have found that if I am trying to do some blog comments, sooner or later, a blog owner is going to say I am spamming just because he does not like my blog comment name (the name is the keyword that I am trying to promote).

I have also bought some links but they are expensive and Google does not like them.

    So... what next....

Should I go for link exchange?
Ang and Paul system? does this actually work?
    social book marking?
    press release?
squidoo etc (do link wheels still work?)

I am not sure what would be the best use of my time.

What is it that you are after?

    Search engine placement, targeted traffic?

what niches do you play in?

But how about your ranking? Do you see any result of you link building effort? Link building is not just about what do do next! You have to check what you did that help your ranking and what is not. Also, before you start your link building process, you should have a SEO plan. If you have no plan at all, you really need to analysis your competition first, before you jump to tryout those kinds of angela/paul or linkwheel.

I used pauls back links for one of my sites and it got deindexed from Google.

I started my own network of blogs for links and I submit to directories. Most social bookmark links are no follow.

Have already looked at competition and yeah, its competitive!

My plan is normally to build links until the site is on page 1 of Google - this has been working fine so far for other sites.

I am just asking if the link wheel is worth doing / ang and paul worth doing... looks like ang and paul may actually be bad, so thanks for that advice... still wondering what to do next.

I have the same problem. I'm planning to try out link exchange, but my sites are relatively new (barely two months old), and they got PR0 because the PR was updated just a few days later after the sites were placed online. I think most of the people would reject my sites because of the bad PR, although I have pretty decent content there. If you have any better PR, that would perhaps be a good idea.

I'm interested in what others will say as I'm in a similar dilemma.
