    Hi everyone ...

    1) Do I manually have to submit my blog to any specific blog directories and why does it not do this automatically i understand it does automatic things on its own but what does it do and not do ?

    2) I am concerned about maximizing seo and my posts with wordpress so how does wordpress help me with seo efforts automatically, I am using THESIS THEME which includes something like a seo plugin to include titles, descriptions etccc so what else can i do with articles to help it along with getting my posts found such as using internal linking, tags etcccc

    Ok.

    1) Yes you will have to submit your blog to blog directories, wordpress automatically tells the search engine websites you have created a new post.

    2) The SEO plugin allows you to easily insert and page titles and meta tags/descriptions to your post, it should be near to bottom of the page when you are creating a new post.

I don't think there are any tools as such, but there are many website which offer a free submission to multiple blog directories and article directories at once, try a google search for the phrase 'blog directory submission' and 'article directory submission'

You can force WordPress to notify other major blog directories using WordPress ping list. For the latest ping list, you can use Google. Just search for the keyword "WordPress ping list-2011"
