Did you know that most sites, some say 99.9 percent of blogs make $50 dollars or less in AdSense every single month. I don't think the answer is placement. The answer is that there are very few sites that are sucking up all the traffic and people are staying there. When people have a favorite site they refused to leave their favorite site and that's the bottom line. You can do all the link building and emailing but people have the attention span of a doornob and they will be on your site one minute and out the next and that's not enough to make any serious revenue from AdSense. My site for example: WMDtalk.com - Webmaster Manage Domains has very few visitors but sometimes I make $5.00 dollars per day in AdSense because the very few people that come to my site seem to click the Google AdSense. Now, I don't tell them to but if you look, a lot of what is placed to the right is relevant to what happens on my forum.
There is always an audience for a well made website. This will never change. Instead of focusing on the negatives, find the positives and improve on them.
Dude I just went on to that blog and saw something amazing which is quite against the AdSense TOS The placement of auction ads n adsense.. I dont think it is allowed..just check it though..
Hello, I know Google recently updated their policy not too long ago, but the AdSense and the AuctionAds are two different colors and the Auction Ads on my site WMDtalk feature pictures. My AdSense should never show pictures. I think they are clearly different if you ask me, but I do respect your opinion. It makes a good penny for being such a small site.
Your observation on AdSense revenue is correct considering that PPC is a long tail economy. The reason so few sites receive most of the traffic has to do with the fact that there are actually very few sites that provide good value to web users. Also, people rush to put AdSense on a new site that get less than 10 hits a day and then they complain because they don't make lots of money. Build something of value and you will make money.
