I am a web designer and need a new monitor. Although I am posting this on the Graphics & Multimedia board, I don't really do a lot of graphic design work. But I do need a good monitor to see better and easier. What is a good monitor (size? resolution? brand?) for a PC person? Price is really an issue for me coz I am still a student, so basically I would rule out Mac... Any suggestions?
I'm crazy for resolution and recently upgraded from a 23" ACD to the Dell 30" 3007WFP (the 30" apple had too much of a price premium).
You can choose 19 or 22-23 inch LCD monitor from any brand with this following specifications : max resolution : 1680x1050 (19 inch) or 1920 x 1080 (22-23 inch) response time : equal or less than 5ms contrast ratio : equal or more than 10,000 : 1 input : VGA, DVI-D, HDMI
how is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SyncM...ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1252150249&sr=1-5 the contrast ratio is less than 10,000:1 though (8,000:1)
Well, you can get a ASUS high quality LCD of 19" for just $180. So, go for it. Its simply the best ! - Digital -
Get a computer magazine and search for a best buy/best performer monitor top. You'll see there some technical details also.
Hey, I use the DELL 2209WA 22", it's new (came out I think 3 months ago) and it's perfect for Graphic/Web design because it isn't like most of the other cheap monitors out there which are usually MVA/PVA/TN panels, IPS panels don't have color shifts when you move around so you're able to view it from all angles and it displays true 8 BIT color unlike all the other 22" TN panels which display 6 bit + dithering. Usually IPS panels are the most expensive but this is a new variation of IPS panels (notice the E-IPS) I got this for 180$ durring a special deal a few months ago and love it.
Are you using the 3008WFP or the 2007WFP? I have the 3008 one, works brilliantly for games and designing .
