What Methods Do you think is important for getting rankings?

Which are the methods or techniques to get good rankings with different search engines.

For ex.

1. URL Submission to major SE
2. Sitemap Creation
3. Blogs

and so on...

blogs are important but only really for a way to build high quality links. which can also be built in other ways

best things to do,

keywords in titles + description + good home page content.

and create loads of links with good anchor text that relates to your keywords

Hmmm and interesting question. But I don't think most of these answers will help you much.

To get good rankings it not so much about knowing the techniques. IMO it's really the things you learn through experience that are of most value.

Through experience you get a "feel" for what's possible. One of the most important things I learnt when starting out was knowing how to judge the difficulty of a search term and exactly what I was able to acheive.

Big Hint : For beginners using directory submission, forum submission, articles and such I found I was able to rank well for search terms where the top 3 results for a term had less than 4,000 links according to Yahoo.

Pick a low competition niche and use the techniques you've learned through reading and track your results over the course of a year. It's the only way you'll get to know how to craft SERP's in your favour.

In the meantime keep up with SEO blogs, subscribe yourself to digeratimarketing, bluehatseo and search engine journal for techniques. Subscribe to the official google blog and searchengineland for news.

 

A one word answer- Links, and plenty of 'em.

I agree about building backlinks as everyone here is suggesting, but never forget about continuing to build unique content on your website. Lots of unique content will help you stay more attractive in googles eyes.

 

Submitting to search engine is pretty much useless.

For good rankings you need:
1. Trusted domain.
2. Solid backlinks.
3. Decent onpage optimization and site structure.
4. Good content.

If you are designing your own website and not using a template blog I would say that one of the most important things to consider is site structure and navigation. Keywords, titles, descriptions and content are great, but if your user or the search engines cannot easily navigate your site then it is all for naught.

You can still use a template if you really wanted to, the search engines will not penalize you for having the same layout as other sites. It all boils down to the content you produce on your site and who is linking back to your site. Having unique content that is actually good is one of the many factors the SE's take into consideration, not having the exact same template coding as other sites. Follow what others have listed up here above and you will be fine, remember it takes time, patience and dedication.

On a side note, if you are trying to target mainly google then directory submissions are a waste of your time and or money. They no longer credit these as relevant backlinks and will discount the directory links pointing to your site. Yahoo and MSN currently still count directory links towards your site though.

Frankly the best method is to read this forum, there are multiple sections of DP dedicated solely to increasing your rankings and you will find far better answers in other posts than you will from the half caring ones here.

 

Adding fresh content frequently is the best method. Because crawler frequently find something new into your site or blog and crawling frequency will be increased.

Another thing you can do is submit your site into social bookmarking sites and social networking sites.

Imo do not need to submit site into search engines. You can submit sitemap.xml to all three major search engines Google, Yahoo and Msn. Get some high quality backlinks.

I hope all this things will help you to get ranking, traffic and PR also.

it cann't sufficient for good Rankings, Google is not sending good weight on DP back links or any Forums. we can say Forums quality 3/10 for Forums.

there is three factors .

*Quality Content (Fresh and it should be interesting for your Visitors)
*On page optimization (Meta Tag, H1, H2, Navigation, internal link structure, sitemap.xml, html codes etc.)
*Off page optimization (Try to Get the Relevancy and Dofollow back links from quality sites Don't Create Bad Neighborhood )
