What methods are you using to generate AdSense earnings?

Hello everyone. I noticed several postings here regarding earning income through Google AdSense and I was wondering, what methods are you using to generate traffic to your website and earnings through Google AdSense?

I think this simple question will help shed some light on how everyone here as a group can discover simple and effective methods for increasing traffic to their websites and earning income online.

Please share methods including how you draw attention/ traffic to your website, methods you apply to the ads you use and place on your websites.

As an example, I have dramatically increased the earnings of many of my clients through ad clicks by simply adjusting the the text color of the ads to a light grey color, while leaving the title of the ad a bright blue color. Has anyone tried this simple method? And if so, what were your results?

 

Whenever I use AdSense I try my best to make the links and text the same color as the rest of my site. Seems to work a bit better than leaving the blue and black.

 

Thanks for the post Sebasago. Altering the text of the ads to mesh with the content of your website is an effective method, and at times works better than the standard blue and black text. I'm curious to learn, do you also adjust the background color of the ads to blend with the background of your website?

 

Try also to use article marketing or social bookmarking to gather some traffic for your site.

 

Lets see .. I made a website a few years ago, one day heard of this 'adsense' thing, put ads on, went "hey cool, this pays more than I pay for the hosting - profit!"

And I've been on a losing battle to convince adsense to give me relevant ads ever since. I always wonder what's wrong if I see my CTR higher than 0.3%.

The little tags you can put around content to get google to ignore it are a brilliant help. After I went through and did that last year sometime I haven't seen a credit card ad since. I've also had to do that to another word to get rid of insurance ads. Advertisers are stupid - the things you need to do to STOP irrelevant ads is mindboggling. What sane person wants to see credit card and insurance ads on a page with kids comics on?

 

I like social networks, it gives a lot of potential traffic, besides that you should also research the position and colors of adsense.
