I have a couple of websites with adsense on them and I have done article marketing, social bookmarking and forums postings. The traffic never seems to be getting any better some days I'm lucky if a few people show up. Both of these sites are about 5 months old and are indexed by Google and other engines. What methods do you use to get free traffic to your sites?

Getting people to your site will depend on whether your site has what someone wants. If no one wants it, then it's not going to matter how good of a job you do with SEO. Focus on improving your content and figure out how to get people to come back regularly and your site traffic will grow organically.
Write articles about your sites topic and submit them to article banks, use social networking sites, bookmarking sites, etc.
WHy not get it reviewed therefore you will see if you are flogging a dead horse, and save time and money
Article submissions are 2005. Setup a Squidoo or Hubpages site along the same lines as your niches, and use those to drive traffic and authority to your sites. As far as social bookmarking, massive stumble campaigns seem to bring the most wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am traffic. Do you know where you rank? Do you know what popular search terms you are targeting? Is your site link structure solid? Do you have any backlinks from quality sites? Generate sitemaps and submit them to Google Webmaster Tools and Yahoo Site Explorer. Generate an RSS feed and submit it to the aggregators. Spread the message virally.
