What method of encryption produced this?

    zD5BJ6veDn9gH61SAT9a2eeSd was produced.

    Is there any way to tell what encryption method would produce this string? It's 25 characters long.

    I highly doubt it, but what are you trying to gain access to? Perhaps that can help us figure it out.

    No not a password. I am just trying to figure out how activation codes are generated. I actually figured out a way to activate accounts with SQL injection, but that was patched quickly lol.

    I figure if I can find what encryption method was used, I can then figure out what is encrypted to make the activation code. Probably a random number, in which case I'm sol, but I'm hoping it's the email address or username.

    Why dont you try to check all possible hashing methods with php? and compare with the hash you got in email?

    EDIT: i dont know any hash that produces 25 letters(bits), so i think u can decrypt it.

    Here's some more if anyone can notice a pattern.

    I've tried to find an algorithm that produces a 25 character result, but I can't find one.:/ It's done with PHP but I don't think it's DES.

    @FDIM:
    Where can I find a list?

    maybe? (Luka8088's post)

    A "good" encryption or hashing algorithm will create an output that is indistinguishable from random numbers.

    There is no way to tell what hashing method was used to create it.

    You might not be able to decrypt them if the original data has been salted.
