What Marketing & Sales Executive really do?

    Besides Job descriptions what really Marketing and sales executives do? I mean what are there duties and what they do?

    Their primary job is to generate more business and get more leads.. Often they have a low fixed salary but get good commissions depending on the number of leads they generate. Senior sales and marketing people also devise strategies to improves sales, penetrate new markets, how to deal with competition and so on.

    Marketing Executives do the concept oriented selling and Sales executives do the Product oriented selling. The difference between both is that Marketing executives are targeting on long term plans and sales operations are targeting for quarterly/annually etc.
