I'm a newbie, less than two months invested in website development. From posts in this forum there's a near-consensus that the quality and quantity of backlinks pointing back to a website is a key driver for high page ranking. I'm going to guess that Gogole algorithms are complex, but I need someone to distill this concept for my teeny brain. What would achieve a higher page rank, all other things being equal: 1. 100 backlinks from blogs, forums, other websites that all themselves are ranking on P.10 2. 10 backlinks from the same sources that are ranking on p. 5 3. 1 backlink from the a source that is ranking on p.1. If my 3 scenarios are useless and off the mark, please tell me why and give 3 alternates scenarios. I realize that there would several 'tiers' of backlinks in the real world, i.e., one backlink from a PR5 site then points to another on a PR2 site, which then points to mine. But if you don't mind indulging my query with the above simplistic scenarios it would be useful for me to get my head around this whole 'quality' thing. Many thanks in advance!
Google looks for links from quality sites. Quality sites have amazing content and alot of visitors. It is also important to get links on sites in your vertical. I noticed this has become more important in the last few months. Relevancy is key. Lower quality links are anything that can be spammed easier such as forums, blog replies, blog networks (google hunts these down and devalues links from them), 2.0, etc. In context links on quality sites are great. You dont need a system of detrmining a quality site. You should be able to tell by looking.
The relevance of the webpage's content that is linking to your site is never as important as it is when first building links for a website. Concentrating on getting links from pages that are obviously relevant to your own site and its content lays the groundwork, and establishes the path that Google and other search engines will expect; thereby making it much easier for search engines to figure out what humans think your site is - and will be - about. Concentrating on obvious relevance in the beginning, as opposed to chasing certain metrics such as PageRank, domain age, and other 'authority' and 'trust' signals is seen by search engines as far more natural and organic... because it is! Were you to not ever build a single backlink to your site, allowing your link profile to develop entirely on its own, relevance is exactly how your site would develop and refine its own links.
hi for SEO and the rankings backlinks are the main thing, nothing can replace the quality backlinks , go for quality rather then quantity.
Generally speaking the easier it is to get a link, the lower value the link is. So links from social bookmarking sites, article directories, blog comments etc are low value links because anybody can get these links, you just open an account, post an article or bookmark your site etc. Links which are very hard to come by, e.g. a link from CNN or BBC have exponentially more value because they are harder to get. Essentially your link profile should have both quality and quantity. Page rank nowadays has zero value in the Google algorithm, ignore it.
Definitely going social is a great way to get some good quality links from some high pr sites. If you can automate the process then it's a whole lot easier and saves you a bunch of time.
Quality backlinks is an important to get more PR in search engine. while you get PR from search engine it will consider some variable of your site like traffic, number of quality backlinks, content and more. And traffic is depend on your site popularity, popularity is depend on number of backlinks that are links to your site. Thus it is a one type of cycling process. That Means backling is so important and if you want to create quality backlinks select only Do-follow site because it gives quality to your backlinks. Social bookmarking and blogs are also provide instant quality backlink.
Quality linking may be done through honest and quality contents or relevant sites to your website. It's quit hard to determine which ones or of quality these days but at least always make sure that what you link in is a quality one.
A quality backlink is a backlink from a relevant site put by the owner (not comment posted by yourself - Xrumer - SB) of that site without you having their link on your site as exchange.
If I am correct, then you should have a dofollow backlink from a page having PR more than 0. Though if you have site whoses PR is 3, then having backlinks from pages less than PR 3 might be not be of much help.
A quality backlink from a reputable source, i.e. aged domain, with a high PR is one way of getting a reputable backlink
