What makes a website successful?

You need a well built website, to make all of your content accesible, you need lots of content for your website to be useful to people, and you need decent marketting for youre website to be found by your visitors...

All in all you need all three to make a website successful.

even with tons of marketing and no content you can't get at top so my vote goes to content

 

All of the three are important but marketing is of atmost important.

 

content is the KING no doubt but proper advertising is also necessary to make something meaning ful from the content

 

As I have no vast experience in website making but i think first of all content, the primary need of any website, then its design and finally marketing.

 

Yeah content is the main and most important ingredient ....

 

Content, well built website and good marketing are must haves for a site to be considered successful...but among the 3...content is the greatest!

 

How about a combination of all three?

I'd prioritize content first though.
