I'm curious, I finally got my site set up for the most part and now i see it takes about 3 light years to load. there's really nothing on the site to cause it to be slow, it's set up on wordpress with 2 effing posts. Is it the server? the host is bluehost.

If it weren't that, what would cause it to be so damn slow?

I think i might put my Louisville slugger to good use.

If it's the site in your sig, it took like 2 seconds for me to load.

Could be a number of things:
    • improperly configured server
    • nameserver problem
    • mysql/database server problem (or just latency)
    • .htaccess problem (or just processing if it's large/convoluted)
I'm sure there are other possibilities. You might check with your web host to see if they can diagnose the root issue.

Thanks people, yeah it's the site in my sig. I clicked on it again right after i posted, and tada! it took 2 seconds too.

But i guarantee it'll start up again as soon as this thread dies.

One other thing you can try is to run a traceroute from your computer to the domain (">tracert www.domain.com") and see if there is a problem in a router between you and the site.
