I have been looking at getting a laptop for college. I heard nothing but great things about mac. I was looking at their specs and it seemed like as far as ram, memory etc. It didn't have near what others had and were 4x as much?
Personally I hate apple products, bad customer service and things break down pretty fast. But that's just my experience of course, some people swear to the macs.
well if you compare apple support over pc support like hp, apple is far superior! that is one reason apple is expensive.. they will handle all the troubles too..
Apple create both the software and hardware. So they know how to make thing run together very well. Although I'm using a PC right now, I might get a Mac soon. - Dynashox -
Ugh, nothing makes mac better than the others. the main reason I stick to a PC is the VAST amount of software that i can use on PC and NOT a mac. Case closed.
You will never know until u have used a Mac.. I use both Mac and Windows.. because I already had two windows laptops and when I tried to sell them people offered ridiculous prices.. But nothing like the Mac..
i tried a mac--- its format is just wayyy to simple for me it was kind of annoying -- pc & linux is preferred for me
Less viruses, better customer support, and they are great if you are into design or web based things.
It tends to be more stable, laptops have way more battery life, the interface is simpler, graphics are better, the OS is optimized for the hardware which makes it faster and more energy efficient, the design is attractive, they are UNIX, less exposure to viruses etc, lots of tools for designing, it uses state of the art technology and innovative technological solutions.
i too have been wanting to take a mac. to see what the hype is all about? is it formattable and windows loadable?
It is NOT better. Being based on the same architecture as any PC, it's pretty much a PC itself now. Choosing between the two is a matter of personal preference. If you really want Mac OS instead of Windows, but would still like to save some money, then consider buying a PC that's Mac OS compatible (do a quick search on the web for more info). Personally, I've been using Windows since version 3.10, I've tried a number of Linux distribution, and yes, I've used Mac OS (I have Leopard installed on my PC). I consider myself an advanced user and, to be honest, after years of experience, I don't even care what OS I'm using anymore.
Frankly speaking, it's the most significant advantage for me Mac-user don't have to buy any anti-virus software that must be updated continiously. I have a firewall (ProteMac NetMine) installed on my Mac, and that's enough
Macs ordinarily come with more: bluetooth, firewire, that kind of thing - they come as a complete package. If you put together a PC laptop with similar specs you'll end up paying a similar price. Mac laptops have great screens, best I've seen and used, and are significantly more compact than PC alternatives. There's no getting around the fact they are put together incredibly well, especially compared to your Sony or Dell laptops, which are nasty oversized plastic boxes. No viruses. That's always a nice feeling Mac OS X is a great operating system too, much more stable than windows, easier to use and more powerful. It has a Unix base and is solid as rock. Plus there's some awesome features on it. To be honest though, i'd be interested to see the laptops you found that were 4 x cheaper. I've yet to find a comparable PC that is significantly cheaper than a Mac. Of course it's all down to personal preference. I like well made things that work. Macs tick both of those
I think it's really cool interface, great features. Virus Free then windows Good Laptop Style and resist able.
