What makes a great free directory?

    Here is mine :)

    1. High Editorial - This could give benefits to my submitted websites in a long run.
    2. No registration required
    3. No captcha error - Ask me to fill 6 characters while the field has only 5 characters available
    4. No Loop Error - Enter into category and still show a homepage instead of innner category
    5. No too much restriction on amount of description text - "You must enter at least 500 words for description" lol

    One thing that hasn't been mentioned previously: look at the google cache date of the page you are submitting to. If google doesn't cache that page or hasn't cached it recently (say in the last 6 weeks), don't put your link there. You won't get any juice. ;-)

    That's why most of the paid directories are paid. They have recent cache dates. I use botw.org, business.com, yahoo directory, HotVsNot.com, joeant.com

    All have strict editorial policies, and are strong with recent cache dates.
