I am a logo designer and I am asking this question for a small research I am doing. What makes a logo designer look professional to you? What about the way he/she should talk/act? What about his portfolio? .. etc.
his site should be aesthetic, and design oriented. His portfolio should have a number of different styles of logos in it to show his range and ability.
The designer should be able to understand what your target market is and to get a grasp of the basic demographics and be able to display and understanding of how the logo will change based on that info. As an example * younger people may like a graffiti style, or a darker logo * older people will look for cleaner lines and a more formal image * Australians favour logos with yellow and green * Americans favour logos with red, white and blue * NZ'ers favour logos with black and white
logo graphics- is logo many type of logos 2d logo ,3d logo photo-shop logo are you design logo is a many companies are used for logo identify is logo this company. manly use of logo is brand name . manly you make logo any graphics software .
Whatever you decide to design, always make sure that when you invert the colors (ie make a black and white version of it for things such as Faxes etc), that the logo is still legible and still brings its message across. The general rule of thumb regarding logo design is SIMPLICITY. You don't want to create something with lots of intricate detail. Something else I remember from when I was studying design was that the lecturer also advised us against using gradients. The reason for this is because, lets say now you want to embroid the logo onto a t-shirt, there is no way that you would be able to get that gradient to come thru on the embroidery. I always keep this in mind -
The designer should be able to keep up to date with current affairs. He/she should be able to exactly follow the client's instructions. A good designer also usually has a nice history of satisfied customers.
a good logo designer should be able to understand and capture the essence of a project, product, company, etc. and be able to display that message in as few shapes as possible, making it easy to remember and distinctive.
In my opinion, a good logo designer should first of all be able to present an impressive portfolio. As for the communication part, I dont think it matters much as long as he is able to deal efficiently with the clients requirements. A good portfolio and experience are paramount. Everything else is secondary.
Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is unparalleled designing software. Either one could be used and my opinion is the logo should be in solid color, clean and meaningful.
It is very subjective but for me the designer should make logo that will help to communicate logo the objective of the company or the organization. Higher qualifications in graphic design or degree not necessary. Should be able to think out of the books and BOX
good logo designer as any designer must have a perfect taste of colour and knowledge of aethetics. however, he/she must look/act distinguishedly from other people, so that everybody understand that he's an artistic person!
