ok well always wanted to know what law i would follow if the dedicated server is in 1 country and i live in another? any ideas cheers
If you personally reside in the U.S., then U.S. laws apply to you regardless of what country you have your server based in.
The law of the land in which you reside is the safest option. The country of your server is unlikely to begin extradition proceedings if you break their rules!
Both would be applicable. Firstly the country where your server is located, since your host will be held liable/responsible under the laws of that country. Secondly the laws of the country you reside in, since any legal actions against you would have to be done under the laws of your country.
Crusader is correct in both instances, so you should consider that if what you wish to do conflicts with either of the two, then dont do it. In addition there is also the fact of the registered business entity. So although you live in the US, your business could be registered in Sweden, then you would be liable to swedish law rather than US.
