what languages are used to make a web application similar to this one?

im looking to make something similar to http://memebase.com/ragebuilder/

and i dont even know what did they use to make something like that..jquery i can fugure that out ..what more do i need to complete the task?
and what languages should i look for to develop something like this?

Most probably PHP. There's someone selling a clone here on DP but I'm not going to advertize on this thread, so use a search button.

 

On the client side they've used javascript + canvas.

Yes, it does. Canvas is, actually, not a separate language, just a relatively new javascript feature. The sever side can be written in any language you preffer, for instance, php.

 

It's mostly javascript indeed.
