In my experiences, any site that has sustainable traffic (SEO, etc) and a little bit of income will sell fast, as long as the price is right. There are thousands of websites for sale if you look around, but very few that actually meet the above criteria.

Sites with a good domain name and good layout with plenty of content , and of course the above mentioned criteria , lots of backlinks to it always helps.

In answer I am looking for niche.

Everybody knows that if your website is ranking, earning good money, have original contents and quality backlinks than everyone would love to have that.

But my question is related with niche. So please vote.

The reason I answered the way I did is because I don't think the time it takes for a site to sell is solely based on a niche.

There are some niches that it is very difficult to sell a site in, but it would be an incorrect to assume that just because a site is in the making money niche, for example, would sell faster than one in the technology niche.

I feel the niche 'Money making' attracts lots of people and are flipped more than all other niche!

I am not sure if it is a high revenue generator itself but people do fall for money... be it in giving ideas about generating the same or seeking information as to how to go about getting it!

Well it depends on buyers mind and their development planning. Like if I am a buyer and want to build popular website then I will go for Gaming niche as it can attract many viewers. I would say from my experience, Finance and Make Money niche is very hot and it can sold faster then any other niche!

But niche is not what buyers are primarily concerned with. Niche is not the sole reason on which they make their decision.

Is there? That doesn't apply with profit as a criterion. There is no site that's making solid, regular profit, sizeable profits that would not sell easily at the right price.

As sole reasons go, profit (expectation) works better than any other. In fact, it's the only one.

You can look at template sites and see what templates are "popular".

Theirs a ton of sites out their that are being sold but not all are good. I'd have to say that theirs alot of money making sites that are being sold, like "e-books" and what not

Yes this one is really great idea but however people are making poker based websites a lot and selling footer links on them.

For me all of those topics are totally lame. Though the topic isn't really a decider for me, I'd probably ignore all of those.

For me the site has to have a history, over a year, of making some money (even if it's only pennies) with original content and not look like it's been written by a drunken ape who was hit in the head with a brick.

I'm usually instantly put off by people mentioning the page rank in the thread title, i.e. 'PR3 site for sale', because it usually means that's all it's got going for it - and often it's a dropped domain etc.

I also prefer thread titles to be written in correct English, so there's more chance the website is too. For instance I avoid 'website for sell', and mistakes like your 'What kind of website sold fast'... though in this case you aren't selling anything so it doesn't matter.
