Hello all, I'm trying to figure out an answer to a question I'm not sure can be answered. I have hundreds of floral domains that I want to sell flower products on. I'm familiar with websites like commission junction and some other affiliate sites that will earn revenue. I basically would like to have the floral products on my sites. I would like to capture the buyer information and process their payment (receiving name, email, address info, etc). Then I would like to have the order sent to the florist to complete the order. (maybe through another company?) I would owe them a percentage of the sale which they could distribute to the actual flower shop. In short, I want to sell flowers and keep all the data from the buyer and simply pay someone else to send the order to local florist to complete and ship the order. Is this possible? If so, what is this called? I'm trying to find the right terms. Does anyone know a company that offers this service? I don't want to just post products on my sites that redirect where they pay somewhere else. I'm in the dark here at this point and I'm trying to figure out where to go from here. If anyone has any ideas or input on what I'm trying to do, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks everyone!
Not sure if there are any services like that. Sounds like you're looking for a middle man to send orders to local florists? Why not get in contact with local florists and set up a partnership to outsource orders to them. Also have you tried Amazon for floral products? You could send shipments from Amazon blind as gifts. Thanks for the response mriveran7! Unfortunately I think it's out of my range to try to contact so many different florists personally to use my service. I'm really looking for a company that has a connection to all of these florists already. If I receive an order, I can pay them immediately a large percentage to take care of the rest. Most importantly, I have the buyers information from now on. That's the main thing for me. I want to be able to have their information in my own database so I can market to them further. I checked out amazon also but it seems they will redirect you to their own cart to pay there.
That would take me a while to sort out but in a nutshell you need the use of an API from say http://www.floristone.com/api/uses-of-the-florist-one-api.cfm I do this with Magento and a different business demographic all together but I basically use a web services feature to push order data to the fulfillment folks. Took me about 10 minutes to implement but quite a while to track down the solution etc. There is a bit of due diligence to be done here. I would start by asking some folks who would actually be on the delivery end. Nigel
Nigel, Thanks for your response! It seems like this type of service is just what I want. I'm going to look through the API now and research it further. Now that I have an idea of what I want, I may try to find similar sites like www.floristone.com. If anyone else has recommendations for similar sites like this one, feel free to reply. Thanks
