What kind of javascript is this?

What kind of javascript is this? and where can I find it?

Just like the one in this website:

    http://www.nhongskee.com/portfolio.html

as you click the sample websites and graphics, it popups up, and loaded in the center of the page, calls an image externally I think, i think this is AJAX and javascript (if im not wrong), and a semi transparent background in the back appeared...

    and this one also:

    http://markyctrigger.com/

as you click the overlay generators, an effect will appear and will show a page in the center of the site, with a semi transparent background...

I hope somebody knows this because I'm so newby on this stuff and I don't know what is that effect called, and where can I find such script... :(

    Check Thickbox:
    jquery.com/demo/thickbox/

Explore the Demo section, in particular.

    Glad to help you.

Btw, you might want to take a look at the jQuery lib itself -- it is very powerful, yet has little footprint (about 19k when compressed).
