What kind of backlinks are "link:http://www.yourdomain.com/" by Google take?

I have this question for many years...I want ask here ....anyone can help, thanks!


If we do seo works for www.yourdomain.com ,we post many links on blogs,society websites, forums etc.

When we search these words in Google:

link:http://www.yourdomain.com/
xx results (0.12 seconds)

these xx results are "backlinks" as Google give us.

and Yahoo have more than Google results .........

I want to know...why these "listed links" are "backlinks" . why others not!

is there any rules we should take, make links become backlinks?

google don't usually show all and sometimes nothing when you check backlinks.. but it doesn't mean that its not considered.. try to gather more quality and relevant links..

 

Google made a lot of changes to the way they treat with backlinks so it cannot be told exactly. The old theory around 2004 stated that Google only count PR4+ as backlinks but it is not true for now. It seems that Google only count the ones that has most "trust" in publicly. Again that you can see how they count links really in webmaster tools (which can be rely on anyway).

The best way to go is to signup wth G webmaster tools instead of using search queries to see your backlinks.
