Hi i am about to get to work with my seo on my website but i always get stuck on selecting keywords. What keywords would you suggest for www.einfomall.com And also what is a good strategy for selecting keywords for seo purposes thankyou.
When I select a keyword I go thorugh the following steps: 1. Think of a very general term related to your site( ie for a diet site just put diet as a keyword or hosting for a webhosting site) 2. Put that term in GoodKeywords (A downloadable free application- google it) 3. Look at the keywords which it shows you and then go to google and input each term with reasonable number of searches into the search. 4. Look at the first 5-10 websites it comes up with for the keyword and check the pr of the website. Do this for each keyword. If the top websites are above 5 pr I would suggest you leave it for now. 5. Keep going throught the keywords doing this until you find the highest 3-4 keywords which top sites and under 5pr and they are your targetted keywords PR= page rank You can check this online or with google toolbar. All that aside I can't find a good keyword term for my websites index.
Solid advice from Mikka. WordTracker and Yahoo pay per click tools offer more good info about the relative value of keywords. Even though I don't (totally) buy the numbers that make it up, WordTrackers index can often tell you where to go to get the low hanging fruit (most traffic, least effort). Once you have an idea, start looking for SEO weaknesses in the Top 5. They are only GOOD kewords if you can get THERE. Best; Eric
Thankyou for the advice the problem is witht he site i am currently working on the keywords have huge competivness for eg software has about 55,000,000 results is this worth using as a keyword or does the number of results not matter.
Well the number is not so much of a big deal. The pr and on page optimization of the page + back links to it are. Don't go for such big keywords like software at the moment. Download good keywords and put software as the keyword. It will then give you some keywords which are other possibilites.
I have tried adding content containing "mesothelioma" and somehow linked it to my blog's concept which is about music and internet marketing. The result is that there is nothing new (more or les the same click number and earnings)as my visitors seem to ignore these mesothelioma-related ads. So selecting the right keywords matters a lot!!! and not piece of cake.
