Ok, $20, 1000 clicks, would equate to 0.02c per click.

Now set your bid to 0.02, and then spend your ideal $20. Good Luck and see how you go.

Don't just concentrate on getting as many clicks as possible, think the quality of the people who will be clicking through to your site and if they are going to make a donation. If you want cheaper traffic driven to your site try using other PPC advertising such as Overture (Yahoo), Miva, MSN. This will drive cheaper traffic to your site but may not convert as well as Google. Lots to experiment with till you find what works best for you.

Rapesco gave you a great comment. Do not focus on the amount of traffic you receive, but how well you are converting on your traffic. I will give you a great example.

On my website, I can easily choose a keyword and get 1000 visitors on Google's Content Network with a CPC of $0.05. However, the majority of that traffic is not going to convert. However, if I choose a highly targeted keyword which costs me $1.50/click, my conversion rate is going to go through the roof. What takes 1000 visits, costing $50 to make $500 on the content network, may take only 5 visits on the search network costing only $7.50.

You must focus on your type of audience and do much research before paying any money on PPC.
