    If a person wants to start a website that would sell affiliate products (eg. jeans or t-shirts). What keywords one should target?

    Keywords should be very relevant to theme like jeans and T-shirts. Keywords like
    buy fashion tshirts
    fashion jeans
    stylish tshirts
    stylish jeans
    buy stylish jeans

    It's better to use 4 or even more words in a long-tail keyword. I usually consider 3 words keyword as a mid-tail keyword. I've looked for some words in semrush, and can suggest you these long-tails;
    levis signature carpenter jeans
    levi strauss signature carpenter jeans
    levi strauss signature jeans for men
    levis 550 jeans for women
    where to buy levis jeans
    levis strauss signature jeans

    Or just make your own research, semrush shows me 516 phrase match keywords and 4000 related keywords. Hope this will help you. Good luck! =)

    i would suggest to list all the keywords that comes on your mind first, ideally 2-3 words then when you're done with that run it on google adwords keyword tool...it'll list kws that is related with what you come up with, check the data and get its KEI then analyze if its worth targeting..

    goodluck ;)

    Good point Lincherry!!

    I usually take exact keywords from a given short keyword from Google Keyword External tool. I prefer to take the top keywords which have good global search volume.

    Keyword, which is under 50 ranks on search engine, must be targeted in order to get better and fast result.
