Bit of a basic question but how can you find out what a particular keyword(s) a website ranks top/has good ranking for?

So to reword - Suppose you have your comptitor's and want to find out what keywords are bringing them the most traffic?

    Thanks

Very simple process. First thing is that you should go details your website and think what service your site is providing and select keyword and optimize and check search volume. Like that process you will get.

    Thanks

Trial and error actually for the thing you want.

If you want to find a position for a specific keyword, there are alot of Google SERP tools out there.

There are lots of tools out there that spy on websites for keywords. Spyfu is one that has free option I think. There are many others but the ones I know of are currently closed to new members and I don't want to post on the forum about them as it would be unfair. Google external keyword tool is also one of the best free tools. You can do domain searches and it tells you what keywords the site is bidding on.

I think there are tools like ibp etc for that. but to find out what keywords bring max traffic depends. I dont think anyone can tell that correctly. If you want to know about your site just use google webmaster tools. Alexa has an option of seeing which keywords drive traffic to a site. I am not sure how accurate it is bu just give it a try

You could check the keywords of your competitor ranking for a specific keywords in Semrush.com. But you could only see 10 keywords if you want to see more you have to subscribe.
