    I think best marketing strategy is having dedicated marketing representative targeting social media and related businesses. The other thing is reviews. There is this company called Manta Sleep selling sleeping masks as high as like $30 bucks. They market and target audiences heavily with social media and email blasts.

    I think it depend from your goals. But in the future need to focused on personalization and 'nativeness'.

    @Barb Davids hit it on the head: different strokes for different folks is always the case for marketing. Are you planning to sell a $5 B2C product or a $100K B2B service? Are you trying to get 50,000 uniques a day or 50?

    BTW, I keep thinking that this is a 10-year-old thread due to the title. ;)

    In 2010? I would emphasize heavily on social via Instagram which was launched just in October 6th of 2010. I bet you it will be a big thing.. Then I would prepare myself for Snapchat launched in 2011. You can definitely get a head start on that...

    2010 or 2020, email marketing still rules.
    Conversion rate via email marketing is very high compared to social media marketing.

    You also need to choose social site and content carefully depending on business type, product type, and your marketing goals.

    And by email marketing I am sure JEET means marketing to opted in consumers who have signed up and registered for your emails because they are relevant to their interests and needs. Spamming random emails will absolutely not work in 2020. It wasn't even effective in 2010.
