After installing a new computer for my mother, the Windows Vista Experience Index draw my attention. It will tell you how well your computer performs and in particular which parts of your computer could be upgraded for better performance. The index number is based on the lowest performing part of your computer, in this case the graphical card (which is onboard, as the computer was bought for office activities only). I'm interested in your Windows Vista Experience Index? As I saw on Microsoft's website, the highest score could be 5.9, someone that did reach it?
My RAM is really crappy 2GB Kingston Value RAM I'm not sure what they're expecting on the HDD bit, seeing as I have a 500GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache HDD
Wow 5.5 is really good! The highest you can get is 5.9 nowadays but could go up when more and better hardware becomes available. With 5.5 you're really doing wel.. You cold add up some more RAM (1 GB or more) to get a higher score
5.6 with my hitachi 1tb hard disk. but it broke down last month and now its 5.3 with some crap hard drive. my subscores are 5.9 for processor, graphics, gaming graphics, and 5.8 for memory.
