Case in point is topix.com. It says that it garners news from other news websites(like associated press, ABC news etc.) and then posts it on thier site..Is it legal?
As I understand it, posting excerpts from the original while giving credit to the original is OK. Posting the entire article without permission is copyright infringement. The Associated Press seems to feel different, as I understand it, which may be why there is so much in the news about aggregate sites being sued by original sources.
So will it be a copyright infringment if some one posts a small snippet of news on his blog and then gives a more "more" link below it which directs you to the original source?
You can subscribe to all of the News Services to reprint, or re broadcast thier stories. That is how the big ones started ...syndication...AP/UPI, etc. Wall Street, ABC, Washington Post,...they are all the same.
I think it is allowed as long as they indicate where they got the news. Like having a text "Source: www....." or " From: www.sssasdaq." at every end of a post
You can copy, add credits from the real author and give some comments and additional information about the content. That would make your blog better.
i am agree with ~Michael he said right complete article posting require Copyright permsission so best is to use your original contents
