    Yes, the items you listed above are important when it comes to search engine optimization.

    Keep in mind like most things in life, it is not what you do, it is how you do it. This holds true for search engine optimization, anyone can optimize a website, but not everyone can be 1st Place at Google.

    The more time and effort you put into doing it properly, the more you will get out of it.

    It is easy to make mistakes when it comes to search engine optimization, but to learn, first you need to be able to identify any problems, then resolve them and make sure that you learn from the mistake.

    There is always bad way, a way good, and a better way to optimize a website.

    First required unique content, in first week do few directory, search engine submission, local business submission etc. after doing this post some blog and articles. by doing these activities track the traffic. and analyze which is the main source of traffic, mean blog, forum or article..Then decide the next strategy.

    the things you need to take care when a new site comes to you is onsite optimization and offsite optimization.
    1.onsite optimization
    -do keyword research.
    -place primary keywords in title tag.
    -place keyword in description tag.
    -analyze proximity of the keyword.
    -analyze prominence of the keywords.
    -use links at appropriate places and wherever required.
    2. offsite optimization
    -submit site's URL to webmaster tool.
    -submit url to good web directories.
    -write some good articles related to your site.
    -create blog related to your site.
    if you do all these techniques in appropriate way then there will not be any problem.

    Interjecting a bit here but SS does NOT do all the seo work for you. You get the tools but you've still got lots and I mean LOTS of work to do when it comes to seo to work your way up the ranks.. ss won't do it for you alone.
