What would be your preference: A website that has low PR (maybe 1) and ranks high in Google for many search terms.... or A website that has a PR6 upwards that shows in search results after the 3rd of 4th page... . . .
Do you mean a directory? Or just a website? If the latter, definitely the high ranking. PR doesn't count for much really.
Of course ranking but depend if you want just sell links, high PR, but if you want genuine traffic, ranking... My preference is high Search result Best, Jakomo
You could go both ways with this depending on your market.. I personally would prefer better search results. For those who have a directory that sells links, they would likely choose high PR over high traffic as they can sell their links for more $$$
High PR has given me pretty good Text Link Ads..... so that's good High Search Engine (like my sony camera and bonds lately) have given me nice traffic which gives a few cents/dollars in adsense.
Well if you're selling products right off your site, like this one of mine Driverskills then search results, being on the front page for your chosen keywords is far more important than page rank... But, as mentioned, if you want to sell text links et cetera and you don't sell any products from your site then obviously page rank is more important because that's pretty much all the people who pay for these things care about, for now at least anyway.
At this current moment in time I am swayed towards having low pagerank and high search engine results. The way I see it, it if were a directory that is showing high in Google search results for many search terms then I would defo submit to that simply because of the traffic coming directly to the site from the most powerful search engine out there in Google. High Google search results will obviously show the site is doing marvellously in search engine optimisation to come so high in search results therefore the likelyhood of your website being found is very high. I have a holiday site which is set to break the 20,000 mark on visitors from search engines alone in August. It's Alexa rank is just below 3 million. This I do not care for because the traffic coming directly from Google, Yahoo and MSN is highly targetted traffic with people searching for the product we are selling. My point. Take this as a directory now and I would almost guarantee that anyone out there that comes across a directory with a very low pagarank and high Google search engine results will, if affordable, submit to this directory. Would y'all agree or disagree? . .
Definitively high rankings, well adding it some PR juice to the domain it won't harm. But mainly high ranking in SERPs
Hey, just to let all you folks know so I am not misjudged. I am heading for both high PR and high search engine results. This is just a theoretical question. However, I am truly intrigued to see what people would prefer if they had to choose between the two as their preference. Come on all, throw some more here and give some reasons why you choose what you choose to be your preference. . .
High Ranking in SERPs is the most important thing, pr does not matter much unless you want to sell or exchange links.
SERPS obviously As the whole point is people want high PR to rank highly in SE's (although high PR doesn't carry as much weight now)
Sure I want a good rank in many keyword at the top pages. That can convert traffic and traffic convert money!
