I wouldn't be senstencing anyone one to anything, it would be there personal choice, a bad one for sure, but there's no the less. believe it or not, in america before the rise of the centralized state, people took care of one another... without being threatened with jail and loss of all your property.

I think you got neo-con, because you select govt involvement in tariffs (#21) I changed my answer there and it had a big effect on where neo-con was.

I retook it (thought I selected the same thing and got):
    1 - con
    2 - libertarin
    3 - centrist
    4- neo-con
5- paleo-liberal (I think you raise on this if you select anwer the question about the confederate flag one way or another)

this time liberal was 10 weird!

Gotcha. I see where you are coming from here. You'd expect either the church or privately funded social services to pop up, which would probably happen, I suppose. Not sure, guess I come from a perspective where (assuming govt went libertarian and acted upon this); that we'd be inundated with drugged out losers (who made their own choice of course) on the news and demands we fix their bad decisions. Then a govt program would come in, then another and another (as always). Just seems like it'd be a huge fiasco waiting to happen.

On 21, I answered "Not Sure" with "low" priority. Not one of the areas I'm up to speed with. I'm sure after I weighed the different sides, I could come to a conclusion.

On the confederate flag, I answered no. The confederate flag has stars, red and blue. My state flag has all three of those.

I have them all up in another browser. I haven't retaken it yet.

Hang on a sec, I'm going to change each of these two answers individually and rescore and will post new results.

I never even noticed the "priority" option! Geesh! Let's see if I answer again and put priorities in there.

No luck there, at all, Lorien. I first changed #11 from NO to NOT SURE. Nothing changed. Next I set #11 back to NO where it was, then changed 21 to YES from NOT SURE. Still the same results. I then changed #11 to NOT SURE and left #21 at YES and still the same results.

I didn't change the priorities though. Let me try that.

Neo-con score is raised by how much you want local/fed government to do things. Neo-cons are usually big government conservatives. They want a properly directed government to do things (Fred Barnes/new republic/et al)

IE regulate gambling, etc..but I'm ruining the quiz, I wanna check out how priorities change things.

Ah, after changing the priority on #11 and #21 with the last settings, it now bumps me to a liberal at #5. #11 was originally HIGH and I set it to LOW. #21 was originally LOW (wasn't exactly sure of the issue) and I set to HIGH.

Well, it does make a difference.

    All priorities set to medium:
    1 - con
    2 - libertarin
    3 - centrist
    4- neo-con
    5- paleo-liberal

When I changed them around to be what I'd like:
    1- con
    2- libertarin
    3- paleo-libertarian
    4- neo-con
    5- centrist
    6- paleo-con

That's odd though, because I voted NO on that one with LOW priority.

How about regulating obscene material? That's always been a conservative issue. I voted yes, because I don't think setting up "gentlemen's club billboards" with large "who whos" next to an elementry school or church is appropriate. There has to be some regulation. I like "who whos" as much as the next guy or lesbian, but not where kids gather.

I voted no to that. I don't think they should be regulated. But I'm not sure if that meant 1000 feet from schools. I dont consider that regulation. Just common sense.

    Heh, no surprises!

OK, I changed what I think are vast differences between liberals and conservatives. Four answers in total, and now it says I'm a Liberal, Third Way and Radical for top three.

Here are the answers I changed that made such an enormous difference:

    5. Do you support handgun registration?
    Changed from No to Yes

    6. Should abortion generally be legal in your state?
    Changed from No to Yes

    20. Should the death penalty be abolished?
    Changed from No to Yes

    24. Should homosexuals be allowed to serve in the military?
    Changed from No to Yes

These four questions, while leaving all my other original answers in place, with all priorities set to medium, are the difference between Neo Con and Liberal.

That's odd. I figured if you changed the military answers you'd change. Neocons are (from my understanding) liberals who are big on national defense (Nixon usually being the originator of the term). Still believe in big government programs (fred barnes, etal) while wanting to be aggressive internationally. Liberals, generally, are big government and passive internationally.

    I answered:
    5. Handgun registration (NO with high priority)
    6. Abortion legal (YES with high priority)
    20. Death penalty abolished (YES with high priority)
    24. Homo's in the military (YES with medium priority)

    I think I was

    no med
    no med
    no low
    no low

The priority didnt make sense to me either. If you wanted something not to happen; and its already not happening; why make it a high priority? I made getting rid of social security a high priority, allowing vouchers a high priority and not having a national medical deal high priority.
