I see lots of sites selling links based on PR. Who determines the worth? Fair market value? Is it based on anything else? Is it real? Inflated? Just curious...

What is your PR 10 worth?
What is your PR 9 worth?
What is your PR 8 worth?
What is your PR 7 worth?
What is your PR 6 worth?
What is your PR 5 worth?
What is your PR 4 worth?
What is your PR 3 worth?
What is your PR 2 worth?
What is your PR 1 worth?

PR only means something in relation to subject. People buying links merely for PR are just fooling themselves, IMO. Buying links from high pr pages in a relevant niche on the other hand: that makes sense. And - as always - some niches are more expensive then others.

    Anyone's PR9 or 10 is priceless!
As for other values it depends on how much the seller thinks they can reasonably extract from the buyer!

i think it will not be a true compare , if you ask pr&price. i believe you must add some more criterias to your question like outgoing link quantity

    Many factors come into play.
Number of outgoing links. Traffic. Niche.
Pr is not an indication of popularity or traffic.
I have had PR4s that get 25 visitors daily and PR2s that get over 3000 unique daily visitors consistantly.

Man there are people all over both sides of the fence. What is PR...and why does Google use it if it has no relevance?

from what ive gathered in the fair market based on just a domain name and no real content.

    pr1 1.00 to 10.00

    pr2 1.00 to 20.00

    pr3 10.00 to 35.00

    pr4 20.00 to 75.00

    pr5 40.00 to 200.00

    pr6 100.00 to 400.00

    pr7 400.00 to 1000.00

    pr8 1k to 20k

    pr9 20,000.00 to 200,000.00

pr10 thats how it got its name, the final number, 200,000.00 to google

google was created in a place were there is no time so it was easy to see the beginning and end of all things. so what started as a 1 page search engine will encompass all things. in math this number is google.

this information is based off of the current trading value of beanie babies 1998 so prices may vary at any time. DOH

hahaha -quite like it. Very good reply indeed to the question of OP:D

@Op - I'll go with country boy --it depends on the selling and buying skills of the traders. But he mentions --PR9/10 priceless.

I have no problem with PR10 being priceless. But some PR9 links are being sold @ around $500-2000/month.

Just like PR9 and PR10 are priceless, PR1 and PR2 are worthless. If it is in relevant niche, with good traffic and low outbound link number it is ok -- but links won't sell based on PR alone.

Fair market value, if anything. Most often, however, it's simply emotions!
