I was recently on another forum where a user asked if she should buy a .info site since it's cheaper. What is your opinion on .biz or .info sites.
I, personally, have not run into too many .info sites but it seems to me that every .biz site seems to be some sort of scam. Just my opinion, but what's you take on .info and .biz sites?

    .biz

means dot business why would it be a scam.

people usually associate .ws with scams.

I think .info's are really taking off

some have sold revently for 100k+ look at travel.info for example.

I own some nice .info terms, I liek this TLD deffiantly one of the top 4 TLDs imo

    .com/.net/.org/.info

.info is cheap, which is good for running sites like proxies in bulk.

    Western samoa/website

I dont know why, I think .com and maybe .net are the only domains that sound attractive.

Mostly the other domains like .biz or so sound a little dodgy too.

The only other ones I would consider are country domains like .us .de .sg etc.

    Just my opinion.

They are cool and I would not mind having a few domain names using those extentions.

    .ws is western samoa.
A site need not be bad because of the extension. Any extension will do, if you are willing to work hard and put some effort into the site

I think theres too many extensions but .info and .biz is ok. .biz is quite popluar and .info is hella cheap at godaddy.com at least.

look at the sales data on

    http://dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm

.info's are really taking off in a big way...

true .coms and .net really are the two premium TLD's

but .info/.biz are second tier imo.

also yes .de is also very popular ive seen some huge sales in that TLD.

data on .info sales from this year -

    Travel.info $116,000
    NewYork.info $70,000

also finally .mobi have taken the market by storm ive seen alto of XXX,XXX sales in this niche all ready.

I dislike .biz but like .info If your a business orientated website, get a .com or country level domain name, not .biz

I don't even consider the tld when looking at domains. All my traffic comes from SE's or social networks. The only time I would specify a .com is if I am relying on word of mouth advertising (offline mainly) as non web savy people will more often than not type whatever.com.
Infos are great at current prices also.

yes true, but I still see some decent .net sales going down, sure it does not have the same credibility as a .com but it is deffiantly one of the most reputable and old TLD's around.

I have .com, .info, and .net domains. I always prefer .com but if I can't find a domain I like I'll go for a .net or .info. I believe these extensions will all be the same level of acceptance before too long.
