    Hello everyone.
I willing to buy a script from getacoder/scriptlance.com website. But the designer will give me a unlicensed script ,and they claim that i no need to worried because they have fully customize the script.

Is it ok to buy a script that we don't know who is the creator?
And,i have the difficulty to find a licensed script also. How do i do?

thank you, looking forward for your reply.......... crying.gif

Would you steal a steak from the cooler at your grocer? Paying someone else for an unlicensed script is stealing. If you know what script it is, you can buy the license and then pay for the coder to customize it. I'd find a different coder since that one is a jerk.

but i can't find the real creator of the script.
Everyone claimed they have fully customize the script with thier preference.
so,the script doesn't need license already.
And,how do i know the script is belong to who?there is no name, copy right of the script.
Can you teach me how to differencetiate a real and cracked script?

    thank you for ur reply

If the script is based on an open source script, then they can change it to their heart's content and sell it, as long as they include the relevent open source license and the full source of the code.

If the script is a cracked commercial script, then you are buying stolen property and could be forced to discontinue use of the script at some future date as well as pay famages to the script's real owners and/or licensing fees to continue using it.

If you know the script's functionality -- which you should -- use google or another search engine to track down similar material on the web, until you find the original. Deal with them directly if you want. If it is an open source project, there is a chance it is listed at freshmeat.net Try searching there.

First buy the orginal script and then ask the coder to customize. it'll be safe.

Then I would ask the coder to sign an agreement that states and verifiies that they have full legal rights to the code and that you will have the same. Any legal disputes will be the responsibilty of the coder, etc. You still may loose the code if a dispute arrises but at least you'll have covered things as best you can.
