Out of all the major programming languages, even though they all share some common similarities they are all uniquely different.

Which is your preffered programming language, for example my favourite is PHP and MySQL but I like Javascript and JQuery.

    What are youor thoughts?

I think Java as a very popular is missing in the list, it really deserves to not to be in 'Other' I think ;)

Sorry that i missed Java off the list, i had left than 4 hours sleep the night before so i wanted an early night and completely had a mental block.

Yes, i will grant that Java does, in fact have many great things that it can be used for.

    PHP for me.

I used to do a lot of AS/Lingo, and never really liked it. And I still find JavaScript kinda stupifying.

    10 PRINT "WHAT ABOUT BASIC"
    20 GOTO 10
    RUN
    :p

MySQL can not be classed as a language by some but in my eyes if you are going to be using it well then you really need to know how to use it and it requires alot of learning to know it in order to build a PHP & MySQL Site from Scratch.

php. It was the first I ever learned. It gave me the ability to read other languages and understand the basic concept of them.

I'm an old school C programmer who moved into the modern world with C++, Java, C# and PHP.
I really like the C# ASP.net 'code behind' model for website development but for day to day 'getting things' done, my preference is PHP.

PHP, mySQL, Javascript/Jquery will probably be choices of mine. Tried getting my hands on C++ & C# but gave up sometimes later.
