Used to be blank tiil about 6 months ago .. now its ... Google in IE, Firefox, Opera and Netscape I gotta get G out of my system
I built a html page with links to all my favourite and most visited sites. That way 1 click and I am where I want to be.
thats cool ... a friend of mine created a little util that creates the html file automatically from your favs.
It's one I built by hand, to array my most frequent needs in a way that seems to me easy to read and easy to use. One thing I do is have a timed script go out and fetch all my favorite comic strips overnight, so, in the morning (my morning, most people's afternoon), I can just click on one link and get the lot displayed for the day.
Homepage in IE & Firefox is Google News UK. The only bit of news I get in my life. Quickly scan the headlines with each opening of a new window and you keep up to date.
Having eBay as your homepage is just dangerous if you ask me, encourages you to have a shop everytime you go on the net But I'm with TLDTrader.com, Yahoo always! I find it boring just seeing Google's logo, prefer to see a bit of news when I bring up my homepage
We have a similiar thing that we produced. A search engine powered by ie Fav's, with Mirago results mixed in for good measure.
about:blank I hate having any page be a 'start' page. I have several hot links in my menu bar so I can get them in a flash, but I don't see any one site being so important that it needs to be displayed when I start my browser.
I was inspired by an ealier post in this thread and couldn't believe I hadn't done it earlier. I've created a page with my most frequented links on it and searches programed into it - then made it my start page. Less clicking and fast navigation means less time online (yay!) Was Google before that.
Like several other of you I created my own home page with all my major links. This way when I am away from home and my own computer and need a URL it is quickly available. I encorporated weather feeds for locations I follow. Shannon
