Hi Everyone, I have been working on a website for a new product I created (the product is still unavailable), and I am needing some feedback as far as the website design. What is your first impression when entering the website? I had to make the website 1280 px wide because on various pages of the website I have video tutorials that are 1280 px wide. They nedded to be large enough for people to see the detailed charts in the videos etc. I will be selling a professional, non-scam product for a few hundred dollars (possibly), but my website design might give people a feel that it is not a professional website, and therefore they might leave right away. Only 2 people know about my website and project (at least until now). But I am thinking the design still needs work (I will also be doing rewriting etc.). My new website Thanks in advance for your opinion/advice, Ed Crivello
First thing I noticed was the site did not fit in the frame of my computer screen. I have always hated that. God luck with your new adventure.
There is allot of content on the site and it needs to be managed. You might need to consider replacing the complete design. Put some nice web 2.0 graphics, design a logo, place the steps in nice looking boxes with nice arrows in between. You might wana skip all the content leaving introduction on the home page with call to action to purchase to get trial of the product. rest can be placed in proper links to separate pages.
I think you need to completely re-do your sites design. Go for a more appealing web 2.0 kind of style.
Thank you for all the suggestions so far. I made some changes. I made the website less cluttery, I reduced the width from 1280 px to 1024 px, I added a logo, I changed the text font, and I did some rearranging.
Personally, I'd lose the comic typeface and go for something that reflects a more professional service.
First impression is its too cluttered... Perhaps you could cut down on some text, repackage text into graphics... split it up a bit and give more space... Good luck with your project!
There's waaay too much text content for a single page - try splitting it up Also, logo/image placement is not that good - for instance, "add to favorites" button is taking as much space as does the banner on the left side, I would've made a smaller button and placed it somewhere aside
I did some more changing around. I am trying to follow some of the advice. Initially I included so much text on the front page for seo and keyword purposes. But the more I thought about even websites that hardly have anything on their main page still get ranked very high in the search engines probably because of backlinks pointing to their website.
i think its to text based, maybe you can cut some of them to be some section , or "read more" type , and also u need to put some different color for the headline. splitting into some page might be better =)
