I would like to know what is your best solution to stop any spammer to your website.

I have used some solutions, but my problem still exists = No Final solution.

This is like a mouse and cat game - don't you think?

Pay first, then submit. No more SPAM.

All my directories are paid. Updating to phpld 3.1.0 has been the turning point. No spammy autosubmissions so far!

How difficult was the move from 3.06 to 3.1? Any hints to offer?

    Yep...its pretty solid build.

Very easy to update. submit.tpl and profile.tpl needs a few changes (see boby's thread at phpld forum)

Mayby you should try censorship. It's available in OpenLD.

Oh this spam trouble is killing... I get "hotel sites" submitted to a "webmaster directory", all from same email id's...
Not too much spam, so I can still neglect it...
    Bye :)

For automatic software submission, try use captcha image or question text.
For manual human submission, I agree with !Ask! :D

This is what I have suggested to David a while back, but he said there were some issues.

I also have an alternative to it, and a backup failsafe on top of that, to help ensure things work properly.

After all, if you really are truely submitting your directory, a few extra steps being taken should not hold any single entity back from a much more secured method and apporach and should be embraced rather than barked at.

You could ban IPs submitting the SPAM, and then ahve the submittal process check their ips , eventually, all proxies and spammy ips will be banned and youll be ok :p

I say blog about it. Maybe someone might take interest and further your suggestive input on the subject.

Do me a favor, over the course of the weekend, bitch on me via PM about looking into the spam. Seriously. I already had an idiot fall for the bait i setup over at zmoz.com, so I already have about 30 good types of spam submissions to use.
