    Microsoft Visual Studio Express edition is without a doubt the best design software to be found. However for many needs something like Wordpress or Blogengine is great because it is like a website in a box, ready to go. All you have to do is load it to your server and do a little tweaking and viola you've got a website in just a few minutes.

    That being said, Wordpress and Blogengiine are not design software. Dreamweaver and Visual Studio are design software, i.e. you start from a blank white page and build everything from scratch. This can take a great deal of time. Generally speaking it is time I would rather use trying to promote my site.

    These days I have been just putting up a Blogengine site and then using VS and Photoshop to do whatever changes I want to do with it. Even for the blog post I us VS to do all the formatting and add any scripting or video that I might want to post to the blog then just cut & paste that into the blog interface to post it.

    Photoshop and Dreamweaver maybe with some flash menus, the Photoshop export to HTML isnt too bad as well even though i prefer to make them from scratch in Dreamweaver.
