As a total noob to the world of MMORPG - massive multiplayer online role playing games I wonder if people can enlighten me as to their favorite and why? My limit of understanding is Southpark's episode on WOW. Is the game all that? Does having only a broadband connection mean the game will be budget for me? I just try second life and the flow wasn't very good. Control was really jumpie.
RuneScape - www.runescape.com I really enjoyed playing that a few years ago, it is a bit boring now for me, but I used to enjoy it, because you could interact with other people and you had levels which you could make higher as you went along and there were frequent updates. You do not need to pay anything for the game!
i like the warcraft, it is cool. nice and slow game, which let's you think and plan not just go and hit out!!
http://www.wowisland.com I love it, its really addicting. (Ok, so I bought it on DP a few weeks ago and have been working on it like mad ) And of course *the* best , is cyber wars: http://tinyurl.com/ystqkw (No ref link - its my site, but I dont post a direct link)
I've never tried WoW myself, but I'd really like to. I've heard a LOT of great things about it, but I just don't like the idea of paying monthly. Right now, I'm trying to quit playing MMORPGs, anyway. They take up way too much of my time, and I would just sit in front of the computer all day grinding.
amazing, i was never into mmorprgs, i was addicted to a gamecalled Kol, geex it was gay, but i kept playing, got over it a few years ago
I haven't read any reviews of LOTR Online yet so I don't know if it's any good. Anyone want to tell me if it's worth buying? As for MMO games that I like, Eve Online, Auto Assault and WoW of course.
I was a WoW addict...been WoW free for over a year...lol I look back at it now and think i was crazy...since then I haven't touched a MMORPG ...but i'd have to pick WoW
I think GTH was really cool for being free. It stands for Gate to Heavens, and is made by a korean company I believe. It is really cool, and looks like a cheaper version of something Square Enix would make when concerning Final Fantasy. The gameplay gets boring in the later levels, or at least it did when I played a few years back. They have put a lot more features and items in since then. I managed to get a very high level, but quit because it got to the point I would play 5 hours just to gain one level. I wasted my entire summer on that game. It is really cool though. It has many shortcomings, but for being free it is one of the best.
Ah, I used to play PT a while ago but then they changed it from being free to having to pay to play it. Shame, cause it was really fun.
