What is your favorite FREE traffic method?

With so many different traffic generating methods out there, it can be hard to stick to a couple good, solid methods without trying the next "hot method".

Anyway, I've never really been a fan of paid methods (unless I'm testing out a product in a certain niche market to see if there are buyers, and paid traffic generating methods are the quickest way to determine something like that, which does save time). I'm definitely all for free traffic, and that's how I've always made money online.

I wanted to see what YOUR take is on free traffic? Do you use it? What methods do you use or favor? My main method for generating free traffic is Article Marketing and distribution (My #1 method without a doubt). I also use forums and blog commenting to generate some traffic as well.

What I'm trying to work on is video marketing and press releases. I know video marketing has power, but I just don't have time to create decent videos.

Anyway, what's your favorite method (or methods)?

 

I have always found article marketing the best, and it helps with SEO.

 

with free traffic tools - does this only increase traffic to help your page rank? or do some of these free traffic tools also help out with other tools such as adsense?

Right on man. Article marketing for me is hands down. It can help for SEO, but I tend to add a lot more than just article marketing when optimizing for the SE's.

When i try increase traffic i advertise on other forums, share affiliates and enter in topsite lists...

 

I use a number of free traffic methods and this how i have arranged them in in order of preference.

1. article marketing
2. web 2.0
3. press release
4. video marketing
5. SEO

But when combined these methods can be a bomb

 

I still prefer leaving thoughtful posts on forums and blogs. I think social networks and Youtube would be good, but I don't make videos and have only had a little success on Facebook, Twitter, and the like.

I'm right there with you. I've recently started to incorporate Twitter a bit more, just because when done right, it can have a huge impact. I just don't have enough time to devote to it right now. I'm going to start creating videos from my articles and submit those to all video sharing sites to test the waters. Couldn't hurt - get a few backlinks and possibly some traffic out of the deal, too.

I'm just getting started this week and browsing all my available options. I've loaded up a twitter, and made it quality, no followers yet tho hah. I think I will try out blog posting, maybe a youtube video now that you bring it up, and maybe some backlinks.

 

Article marketing and video marketing..

 

I use social bookmarking the most. I think its most affective. I also use myspace, facebook, and twiiter. But you need a large amount of friends/followers for that.

Video marketing has done well for me, but it depends on the niche..

 

yes youtube video marketing is powerful. although its not gonna be great if your selling something on your site it still provide traffic.

 

Youtube is great to promote something via viral methods. If you have nothing interesting in your video except some presentation or tips, it wont be so popular.
Only viral videos are popular, or videos with a great sense.
In my practice i use all methods of promotion except viral video marketing. It's kinda hard to do for me.
