When you simply can't come up with a great TLD to use, choose .other and then if those good domains are gone choose .misc (miscellaneous), and then for the internet marketers, .oto will be all the rage for their click here, buy now one time offers. :D

The whole point of this was the fact that it is so sad that .other got more votes than .org.

I follow domain news/sales very closely. .other (.ccTLD) is worth more in some occasions than .org depending on the keyword. It's expected people would choose .other if they are targeting a specific audience.

I was actually just joking around. Seriously though, other than the main TLD's, I say .co.uk is a very big TLD. You could use it to target search engine results in the UK.

Woo Hoo. Someone finally voted for .org.

Although, you can't deny that commanding 80% lead .com has. Besides it wasn't called the .org bubble, it was the dot com bubble. :p

If you represent a firm or a big organisation, having all the .TLDs for your name would be a recomended option ! or at least, thats what I think

I say get all you can afford.

.com, .net, .org, .biz are the main ones you should get.

then consider .tv, .mobi, .info, and .co.uk

and then if you feel the need to spend more, get .eu, .au, and any other TLD.

The top 4 are the primary ones to get though. Depends on how badly you want to protect a brand. You could start with a .com for the primary content, with .net redirecting to download areas, and .org and .biz just re-directing to the .com site. Then if you decide to use video, add .tv as a re-direct to the video content on your site, and if you get into mobile device optimized pages (mobile adsense), .mobi could be useful. Then .info could be used to redirect to an about us page, and then .co.uk could target the british market, then you could expand into other country's TLD's if you felt the need. If you are building lots of sites then the top 4 are the best, unless you are doing well and can afford the others.

I own all .com except for one .info (used to have a short url for redirecting only)

I might consider a .org or .net, but it would have to be absolutely perfect
