Just curious.....what's everyone's bounce rate here on their site, how many monthly unique visitors are you getting, and what type of site is it? (What industry/subject matter, type of site like blog for forum, etc...)? Obviously you want to market relevent key phrases/words, but are you all focusing specifically on keywords you think will yield low bounce rates or is that less important than traffic to you? I currently have a messageboard that gets around 1,000,000 unique visitors a year, but my bounce rate is pretty high in the mid 80% range. It's an obesity help forum. I'm redesigning the site as we speak to be released soon, and I'm hoping to drive that rate down a bit.....better put together site with features more obvious, more attention to registration, more SEO relvent articles being written to drive in users that will stay....currently the site is dominated by user content and posting of their blogs. What are your tips to eliminate bounce rate? I do have a lot of spam blocking measures on my site like banning IP addresses of known spammers, but I think if they get to my site and see the "you're banned" message they leave and that counts as a bounce on my site. Anyone know of a way to separate those out? I also think my bounce rate is high because of people that come to my site and immediately click and ad and leave.
