My biggest challenge (thank you saltunofseo) is getting enough traffic to my higher paying niches.

I'd say its me not being motivated enough to create content for my websites.

Getting links so i stand a chance in the serps. I believe my content is unique enough to provide useful info to my readers. I also reckon that my content is better than my oppositions in the way of facts and usefulness to the readers of the site. but still i am competing with a 6 year old site compared to my 4 month old site (its cool though i reckon with enough time my site will take over )

Its just a waiting game :) . Also i noticed that people arent as link happy/. It takes a special something for people to reference you nowadays.

for me, there are so many challenges as well as obstacles in this business.. one particular challenge is that i still need to work 9-5 while also working part time maintaining my own website as well as blogs. need to balance both is somehow doesnt sound easy and alot of sleepless nights and u get tired one day and just get switch off, go out have a break or something.. continue back to work the next day or the following day..

another challenge or obstacle might be your social networks which might use up your time chatting and stuffs which may hinder work at times..

about the traffic, content and seo, it all takes a significant amount of time and patience and hard work.. focus on the niche and expand on it on a regular basis is a challenge.. especially when you have old as well as NEW competitors in the same niche with good seo.. you simply don want to lose the race and thats what keeps motivating me to move on..

@Tarakan - It's hard to keep going when you have a regular job and other things in your life going on. I admire anyone that tries because it's definitely easier not to try and watch the TV instead. Hats off to all of you that are giving things a go to change your life.

I have a quick tip for you to boost your productivity. It takes discipline but it allows you to power through your work.

Step 1: Allocate a certain amount of time you are going to work. 2 hours is a reasonable figure.
Step 2: Switch off everything that distracts you. This means no TV, no people coming in and out of the room, no MSN, no form of social interaction ( i.e. no Facebook, Myspace etc ). You are working during this time so you have to be 100% focused.
Step 3: Set a timer for 2 hours ( get a drink before hand and put it on your table ).
Step 4: GO GO GO..........Now you are working for 2 hours solid. This is all you are doing, totally 100% focused until that timer rings in 2 hours time at which point you can stop and reward yourself with TV, food, MSN, life.. whatever you want to do.

If you do this you'll get an unbelievable amount of work done in 2 hours and then you can break away from it. I regularly do this. In 2-3 hours you can get at least double the work done most people achieve during that timeframe. In other words you can get almost a full day in by working 2-3 hours a day.

If you don't believe me just try it. It works

    :)

Organic Traffic. In my experience most of my Adsense clicks come from organic traffic that is searching for a particular service. Once they are intrigued by the title/description in the Adsense ad and they'll click.

Good points, but I'm lucky if I get 45 minutes a day, with a screeming 7 month old in my lap while one hand typing, and my 3 year old saying "daddy, daddy, daddy!" "Yes?" I say. "Where's the moon?" he says...and it's 2:00 in the afternoon. And the feedings, diaper changes, etc. I think you get my point. So this could certainly work for some...I've got to run, my baby needs to eat...and he lets me know.

This is not selfishness. Whay should they click on an ad when they are not interested on the product being advertised? Clicking on an ad just to say thank is paying you for your service with someone else's money.
